Robert was born in Slough Berkshire, England on May 27 1993.

Robert started riding when he was 8 years old on a 65SX. After only a few years of learning how to ride motocross he became a team member in England which raced regional club races. Robert raced many British Championships and performed extremely well at each event that he attended.

In 2003, Roberts family decided to take his talents abroad by traveling to the United States to compete in the 2003 Florida Winter Ams Series, He really enjoyed the competition that the Florida riders had to offer. The competition in Florida proved to be more challenging and physically demanding than riders he had experienced in Europe. The Devonald family has since decided to move to the Florida area, and have done quite well since their arrival in 2005.
